C+K recognised as a Leader in Diversity
C+K has been successful in achieving the Leaders in Diversity Award from the National Centre for Diversity.
The achievement of the award is the culmination of the journey C+K have been on with the National Centre for Diversity (NCFD), to ensure the principles of Fairness, Respect, Equality, Diversity, Inclusion and Engagement (FREDIE) are truly embedded throughout C+K.
The NCFD started working with C+K staff, partners, clients and stakeholders to evaluate our FREDIE qualities in 2020, helping us to identify areas for improvement across the business. A Leaders in Diversity steering group was established, made up of staff from throughout the organisation, to draw up an action plan and monitor progress against the plan. This approach proved successful. In May 2021, C+K was ranked 47th in the NCFD's 100 Most Inclusive Workplaces in the UK - the highest ‘new entry’ in the list. And, following on from this, C+K achieved the NCFD's Investors in Diversity Award in November of the same year.
Determined to continue our FREDIE journey, C+K engaged with partners from across the local community, who offered training and awareness raising visits to staff covering a wide range of FREDIE-related topics. In recognition of our ongoing positive work to embed the FREDIE principles into our organisation, we were placed 30th in the NCFD's 100 Most Inclusive Workplaces for 2023.
The NCFD then worked with C+K's staff, partners, clients, suppliers and stakeholders to re-evaluate our FREDIE qualities, before recognising us as Leaders in Diversity in March 2024.
On achieving the Leaders in Diversity Award, Martin Green, C+K Chief Executive, said:
“C+K is delighted to be recognised as a Leader in Diversity. We can only continue to meet the needs of all of our clients if we have genuine empathy with and understanding of their backgrounds and personal circumstances. The work we have undertaken with the National Centre for Diversity and our partners has strengthened the business and our practise and in turn led to tangible improvements in the support and guidance we offer. I am very proud of the efforts our colleagues have made to continually improve their work and for them all to be recognised as Leaders in Diversity.”
The achievement of the award is not the end of our FREDIE journey, work is ongoing to ensure we continue to improve. However, achieving the award does help to demonstrate that diversity and inclusion are at the core of our organisation. And, as an organisation that supports people from every background and circumstance, our clients can expect to receive the best service from us and be treated with kindness, fairness and respect.
C+K extends its sincere appreciation to the National Centre for Diversity for their invaluable guidance and partnership in achieving this award.
