Virtual Work Experience
Our virtual World of Work (WOW) programme includes preparation activities which can be accessed by teachers, video clips featuring employers and opportunities, job sector information designed to engage and inspire, plus activities for student debrief and reflection.
During the programme students will:
- Understand the work that goes on at an organisation by seeing it in action, meeting the people that work there and having the opportunity to ask further questions
- Recognise the skills needed for the world of work, such as resilience, communication, teamwork, and creative thinking
- Recognise the range of roles and opportunities on offer across the organisation
The programme is divided into 3 main parts:
Brief - A selection of lesson plans/activities aimed to help students identify and develop their employability skills and prepare them for the world of work.
Virtual Employer Engagement
The virtual employer activities support the student to understand key employability skills required for work. Students can access sector specific video clips or click on featured employers to find out about the job roles within one particular organisation. The virtual employer engagement experience could last between 1 day and 1 week depending on school resource and timetables.
Debrief - A time to reflect and complete a careers action plan.
