Events

We have a proven track record of delivering successful opportunity events. We offer businesses, employers, training providers and educational institutions the chance to exhibit at our events, which include the annual apprenticeship and Get Inspired events. These events enable businesses and educational institutions to connect with hundreds of young people and adults under one roof.

Exhibiting at these events gives organisations the opportunity to:

  • talk to young people at a key stage in their career decision-making journey
  • promote vacancies and apprenticeship opportunities
  • support and inspire young people in the local area
  • meet parents and carers, the key influencers in young people's career decisions
  • showcase their organisation and publicise events and open days.

C+K careers advisers attend our events, ensuring that young people and adults have access to independent and impartial careers information, advice and guidance about post 16 and post 18 options. This supports our clients in making informed decisions about their future and in submitting high quality applications.

We work closely with educational institutions and careers advisers to raise awareness of these events and to support young people and adults to attend.

Exhibitors also have the option to sponsor our events which can help raise the profile of their organisation. Please contact us if you would like to find out more about exhibiting or sponsoring one of our successful events. If you are considering planning your own event, our team of experts can support you with the organisation and delivery of your event.

For more information about exhibiting at our events, please email events@ckcareers.org.uk

World of Work virtual world experience platform

Our virtual World Of Work (WOW) programme supports employers to showcase their organisation to thousands of local young people, connecting them with the workforce of the future. WOW provides a platform for employers to deliver information about their company’s missions, nature of work and career opportunities available. We work with employers to provide young people with the opportunity to experience a day in the life of an employee through virtual talks and tours, filmed video clips and written content. We are currently expanding our database of employers to promote their business through WOW.

Employer presentations

C+K careers advisers are always keen to develop their local labour market knowledge so they can share this information with the young people and adults they work with.

We can organise virtual presentations, giving employers the opportunity to talk to careers advisers about their company and the types of opportunities available.

If this is of interest, please email recruitline@ckcareers.org.uk

Employer visits

Visiting local employers gives our advisers an insight into local businesses, what they offer and the opportunities available.

We can organise visits for small groups of advisers to visit your workplace.

If you would be interested in hosting a visit, please email recruitline@ckcareers.org.uk

Nexus In-School Programme

The Nexus In-School programme offers a range of extended work placement opportunities to students in year 10 and 11, from schools in Calderdale or Kirklees. During their time on Nexus, students will follow a comprehensive programme of personal and employability skills workshops and attend a work placement. We work with local employers to secure appropriate work placements and our employers benefit from new opportunities to support young people and achieve company objectives including workforce growth. We provide a dedicated project officer to mentor students through the programme, whilst also providing a high level of support to families, schools and local businesses involved with the project.
