C+K achieves the Fair Work Charter Certificate

The West Yorkshire Fair Work Charter is a new initiative promoting the positive impact of fair work on businesses and their employees, supporting businesses from across the region to create a positive and fair working environment. Fair work can include flexible working hours, good pay and having a greater focus on wellbeing and diversity in the workplace.

C+K first started working towards the certificate in January 2024. Initially, the company went through an assessment period which looked at how C+K incorporated fair work within its current ways of working, for example looking at inclusive recruitment practices, flexible working, and the implementation of paid apprenticeships to give everyone an equal opportunity to thrive.

Work then continued in embedding fair work practices throughout the company. Mental health and well-being also remained a priority for C+K, with employees having access to a counselling service with up to 5 funded sessions if needed. There are also 4 qualified mental health first aiders within the company that can provide mental health support to staff.

C+K achieved the certificate in June 2024.

On achieving the Fair Work Charter Certificate, Martin Green, C+K Chief Executive, said:

These foundations ensure that we can best prepare for the challenges posed by our operating environment and continue to meet the needs of our diverse and much valued customers. I am immensely grateful to and proud of all my colleagues who are responsible for this award.
